A huge number of Arab and foreign singers will compete for the third session of the Video Clip Festival awards, which will be opened on July 26 in the Egyptian city of Sharm al Sheikh, south of Sinai province.
Chairman of the festival, Abdul Menem Saad told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the festival’s official contest will witness a hot competition between the Canadian singer Celine Dione, the American singer Bretny Spears, the French Joly Holiday, as well as the British singer Elton John.
Another competition is expected to take place among Arab singers, which will include Samira Said from Morocco, Cheb Mami from Algeria, Abbadi al Joher from Saudi Arabia, Ragheb Alameh, Diana Haddad, Sonia Ibrahim and Wael Karam from Lebanon, Arkan Fuad and Bashar Darwish from Syria.
In addition to those Arab singers there will be 15 other Egyptian singers, among them Hani Shaker, Amr Diab, Angham, Hisham Abbas, Majed al Masri and others.
Saad confirmed that the committee of arbitration will be headed by the international singer Dolores Armando. He added that this session differs from the two previous sessions, since it is held under the supervision of “VIDEOF” International Organization for UNESCO festivals. This gives the festival an Arabic and an international sense.
“The festival confirms the association of art and human creativity with tourism, as well as the importance of the art of music and singing, to support mutual understanding and emphases the notions of peace, friendship and love between people of the world, said Saad.
He indicated that the festival will be held in the city of Sharm al Sheikh which won this year’s award for the best international cities – Albawaba.com
