Prominent Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani has taken back previous statements about his optimism regarding the outcomes of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, which overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak. Yahia stated that he is very pessimistic about the year 2012 and truly feels that it will be filled with disasters.
Yahia said that the current conditions in Egypt made him change his mind about the revolution in the sense that there is more corruption and deception now than before the events of January 25.
The actor prayed that his assumptions regarding the New Year will be incorrect and Egypt will return to be a land of prosperity, stability and safety.
On a different note, Yahia is preparing to head to London to film the outdoor scenes of his upcoming television drama “Al Khawaja Abd Al Qader”.
The drama is written by Abd Al Raheem Kamal and directed by Shadi Al Fakharani. Actress Sawsan Badr and actor Lutfi Labeeb will costar in the drama alongside Yahia. The drama is scheduled to be aired during the Ramadan season of 2012 on the satellite channel Al Hayat.
