ALBAWABA - A wave of controversy and discussion has been sparked by the teaser trailer for the series "Wa Nensa Ele Kan" [We Forget What Was', starring Yasmin Abdelaziz, which is scheduled to air in Ramadan 2026.
The trailer displayed the harsh psychological struggles and crises behind fame, leading viewers to question whether the series is connected to the life of Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab, who is currently going through a difficult period.
In his first comment on the matter, actor Wael Abd Elaziz, Yasmin's brother, who is making his acting debut alongside her in the series, stated that the trailer has generated a lot of buzz and questions since its release, which is a positive sign. However, he clarified that any connection between the story and the life of a specific individual is a matter for the star and the production team to discuss.
In an exclusive interview with 24, Wael Abd Elaziz emphasized that the production team has given strict instructions to the entire cast not to reveal any details about their roles at this time. This is part of the production team's strategy to build anticipation and surprise the audience with a unique and highly anticipated series.
He also indicated that further details about the series will be announced soon.
In addition, screenwriter Amr Mahmoud Yassin, author of the Ramadan 2026 series "Wa Nensa Ele Kan," said in an interview with local media, in response to the linking of the series to Sherine Abdel Wahab's life, that the work does not target any specific public figure, nor does it deal with the biography of a specific artist.

The work revolves around the life of star Jalila, who finds herself trapped in a web of mysterious threats that turn her life into a hunt. Here, her path crosses with a man called Badr, a retired professional fighter who finds himself in a different kind of confrontation as her bodyguard.
As the danger escalates, the lines between duty and emotion blur, and Badr transforms from a protective shield into a partner in a battle of love that transcends the rules of martial arts, where preserving love becomes far more difficult than preserving life itself.
The Ramadan series "Wa Nensa Ele Kan" will be aired via the Shahid platform and MBC Masr.
