20th Century Fox's long-awaited Gambit film starring Channing Tatum is set to arrive in theaters on Valentine's Day 2019.
The film studio said it has reserved Feb. 14, 2019 for the release of the X-Men spinoff written by Josh Zetumer and set to be directed by Gore Verbinski.
Gambit, also known as Remy LeBeau, was created in 1990 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee and last appeared on film in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, portrayed by Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch.
The character is a New Orleans native known for manipulating kinetic energy and wielding a staff and a deck of playing cards as weapons.
Gambit is one of four upcoming 20th Century Fox films set in its X-Menuniverse -- New Mutants, set to release April 13; Deadpool 2, scheduled for June 1; and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, coming on Nov. 2.
