“Yes I am married to the director Khaled Salim.” With these few words the Egyptian actress Yusra broke the silence which she surrounded herself with throughout the past years as she used to reject completely talking about the details of her marriage to Khaled, the eldest son of the late Egyptian football player Saleh Salim.
“I am not living inside isolated islands as I cannot tolerate being distanced from people. You can always find me in the middle of events because I am not a sidelined human being and because my social contributions are clear for everybody particularly during the past period which witnessed serious developments as far as the Palestinian issue is concerned. Also I am performing in a film and a series and traveled abroad for few days to attend Cannes Film Festival. But my personal life is the one that I surround with secrecy and I do not want anybody to come close to it because it concerns me alone. This is how I learnt from life sweet and bitter experiences,” Yusra told the daily al Bayan.
She added, “I do not impose isolation on my married life but I do not talk about it in the media because it is something pertaining to me. My artwork is the property of all people as I talk day and night about my new projects without concealing any details about them, otherwise I have nothing to say.”
The renowned actress loves children and hopes to become a mother of one baby boy or girl or several babies. “This is an instinct inside me,” said Yusra praying to God to find herself one day mother of children.
Despite her artistic commitments to the cinema and TV, Yusra is gearing up for her new album. “The album includes a song on human rights anytime and anywhere. It has been scripted by Medhat al Adel and I hope to wrap up the rest of the songs but I shall begin shooting these songs as soon as their cadences are prepared under the direction of Tareq al Urian.
