Eros Group Asks Consumers to ‘Pass it On!’

Eros Group, the sole distributor of world-renowned brands – Samsung, Hitachi, Candy, BenQ, Linksys by Cisco, TCL & Taurus – and one of the leading players in consumer electronics, has unveiled an exciting initiative that ushers in a new era of involving consumers in corporate green initiatives. The company has signed a MoU with Take my Junk UAE, a charitable foundation that provides social and moral support to underprivileged people through providing goods and other items donated by corporations or individuals. As per the MoU, Eros Digital Home outlets across the UAE will serve as drop points for donated electronic goods from charitable individuals in a campaign named 'Pass it On!'.
Eros Group is fast becoming the leading supplier of electronic and digital products in the Middle East region, with a remarkable expected 25% growth in sales this year. The Group recently unveiled a brand new 'Follow the Future' corporate messaging that has infiltrated everything from aesthetic branding, internal CSR initiatives, retail operations as well as this engaging consumer campaign that encourages citizens to recycle their electrical gadgets and appliances.
Building upon forty years of unparalleled success by Eros Group, the 'Follow the Future' umbrella has resulted in a new look, feel and direction for Eros Group, one that aims to consolidate the company's aim to focus on a progressive, consumer friendly business that takes into account the appropriateness of forward thinking practices and the real need for environmental sustainability. This socially and environmentally responsible outlook is extended to a 'reduce, reuse and recycle' scheme being promoted under the Follow the Future banner.
"Social responsibility is something that Eros Group takes very seriously," said Niranjan Gidwani, Deputy CEO, Eros Group. "The 'Follow the Future' campaign will drive home the Eros Group values of consistently delivering industry leading customer satisfaction levels whilst adapting to new market trends and consumer thinking. In this instance the shared concern for our environment and for our fellow human beings could not be addressed more prudently. We are asking everyone to 'Pass it On'."
Part of the Badri Group of Companies, Eros Group has built, since its inception in 1967, a tried and tested philosophy of identifying new avenues of trade whilst responding to the needs and demands of a modern consumer market, in regards to the purchase of appliances and other electrical goods. The 'Follow the Future' vision is now integral to all Eros Group activities. New branding has been applied; new CSR initiatives are being conducted in house as well as an exciting consumer campaign that sees Eros Group team up with Take my Junk founder Faisal Khan.
"This sort of initiative is exactly what social and environmental workers look for. If more corporations take such initiatives we would be a lot further ahead in our efforts to raise living standards and protect our environment. I thank Eros Group for their vision and generosity," said Khan.
The 'Pass it on' drive will see an awareness campaign at all Eros stores. Customers are beign encouraged to deposit any discared electrical items that will then be reused or recycled. Large items, too big for the in-store drop-ins, will be collected personally by 'Pass it On' (takemyjunkuae.com) representatives. Items that cannot be reused will be recycled or sold for scrap, with the money going to the needy.
