Etihad Airways hosts annual travel agents awards in Jordan

Etihad Airways has held its annual travel agents awards in Jordan, recognising the airline's best performing agencies and tour operators.
The event, which took place earlier in December at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Amman, was hosted by Etihad Airways’ Regional General Manager Middle East & Africa, Raymond Korban and saw more than 180 travel agent professionals from across Jordan attend.
Ten awards were presented during the event, including those for appreciation and recognition of strong performing agencies, as well as the diamond, gold and silver awards for the top three travel agencies in Amman, which were presented to Amra Travel, Al Tahadi Travel and Golden Jubilee.
Mr Korban said: "Competition for sales within the airline industry is strong and the relationship between Etihad and travel agents within Jordan is an extremely important one. We owe much of our success on the importance of relationships with agencies, agents who, day-in-day-out, sell our service - and we are committed to recognising and rewarding their support.
We congratulate our winners for their performance during 2010 and look forward to continuing our ties with all agencies in 2011.
During the event, Mr Korban announced the appointment of Mrs. Jumana Jihad Amleh as Country Manager of Jordan.
Raymond stated: "Jumana is already well known throughout the travel industry having worked in a number of senior positions over the last 10 years in Jordan. We look forward to her continued support in driving sales and managing commercial activities for the airline in Jordan.
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, launched its services to Amman in November 2003. The double daily services offer air travellers convenient onward connections via Abu Dhabi to a number of key destinations across the airline's global network, including the GCC, Australia, China, Japan, Korea and the Indian Sub Continent.
