FAMCO team to represent region in Sweden for Volvo Service finals

FAMCO associates in action during the regional semi-finals held in Jebel Ali

Four FAMCO associates finished first ahead of teams from Algeria and Lebanon during the regional semi-final of the Volvo International Service Technical Association (VISTA) competition and will head for Gothenberg, Sweden for the finals to be held in June this year.

The FAMCO team comprising Divakara Kuplottu, Thukaram Sapalya, Mohammad Shafi and Narayan Prabhucompeted against 12 teams from MENA in the regional semi-final and will represent the region at the VISTA finals.

VISTA is Volvo Trucks and Buses worldwide competition and training programme for aftersales personnel.

All teams who qualified for the semi-finals were tested on questions supplied by the VISTA development team consisting of practical exercises and theoretical questions.

”It is estimated that every participant who has completed all three rounds of VISTA 2011 has received around 90 hours of additional training. We are confident this will make a significant contribution to our aftersales service for all Volvo customers in the UAE.”

VISTA 2011 started in September last year with a record 13,704 participants from 75 countries. VISTA is open to all aftermarket employees within the Volvo Trucks and Buses global service network and is currently the largest competition for aftersales personnel in the world.

Of the 3,740 teams participating in this years competition, 153 teams made it to the 16 regional semi-finals which were held in nine locations worldwide including Dubai. A total of 30 teams will participate in the VISTA World Final in Gothenberg.
