FAMCO wins Material Handling Provider of the Year award

FAMCO (Al-Futtaim Auto Machinery Company) was awarded ‘Material Handling Provider of the Year – 2011’ at the Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA) held in Dubai recently. The awards ceremony was attended by 250 of the region’s top logistics and supply chain executives.

The storage and handling division at FAMCO represents brandssuch as Linde forklifts, Dexion warehousing and archiving solutions, automated door systems such as Hart and Nassau, Stertil docking products, storage equipment from Bott and Bruynzeel and office furniture from Meco and Mobil Linea. 

The SCATA awards honour achievements of companies supplying state-of-the-art products needed to ensure smooth supply chain operations, including forklift trucks, warehouse racking systems and other storage equipment,with nominees including some of the biggest regional and international players in 16 categories. FAMCO was recognised for going beyond industry standards for customer service, an achievement that has further reinforcedthe company’s market leading position in the UAE. 

The award was determined by a panel of eminent judgesincluding Issa Baluch, president of the National Association of Freight and Logistics (NAFL), Salma Hareb (CEO of Economic Zones World), Alex Borg (regional director of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport), Sebastian Thomas (projects director at ZAFCO), Shashi Shekhar, founder of the Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG), Warith Kharusi, chairman of Oman Logistics Association and Syed Mustafa, CEO of Saudi Arabia’s Almajdouie World Logistics. 

FAMCO’s award was based on the service and support aspect of the Storage & Handling Solutions division and the team is very pleased that their focus on after sales service and delivery, secured them the recognition they deserved.The award submission included achievements in service and parts support for Doors and Docking, Linde Materials Handling and Storage Solutions.
