FAMCO (Al-Futtaim Auto Machinery Company) was awarded ‘Material Handling Provider of the Year – 2011’ at the Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA) held in Dubai recently. The awards ceremony was attended by 250 of the region’s top logistics and supply chain executives.

The award was determined by a panel of eminent judgesincluding Issa Baluch, president of the National Association of Freight and Logistics (NAFL), Salma Hareb (CEO of Economic Zones World), Alex Borg (regional director of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport), Sebastian Thomas (projects director at ZAFCO), Shashi Shekhar, founder of the Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG), Warith Kharusi, chairman of Oman Logistics Association and Syed Mustafa, CEO of Saudi Arabia’s Almajdouie World Logistics. 

FAMCO’s award was based on the service and support aspect of the Storage & Handling Solutions division and the team is very pleased that their focus on after sales service and delivery, secured them the recognition they deserved.The award submission included achievements in service and parts support for Doors and Docking, Linde Materials Handling and Storage Solutions.

ولي العهد السعودي يبرر للصين سياستها مع "الأيغور"

اعتبرت بعض وسائل الإعلام الغربية أن ولي العهد السعودي برر خلال زيارته إلى الصين إنشاء سلطات هذه البلاد معسكرات خاصة باحتجاز المسلمين الأويغور الصينيين.

وخلصت وسائل الإعلام هذه، بما فيها مجلة "نيوزويك" الأمريكية، إلى هذا الاستنتاج استنادا إلى ما نقله التلفزيون الصيني عن الأمير محمد قوله أمس الجمعة، خلال لقائه الرئيس الصيني، شي جينغ بينغ: "لدى الصين الحق في ممارسة أنشطة مكافحة الإرهاب والتطرف من أجل أمنها القومي".

وفي اقتباس أوسع من تصريحات ولي العهد السعودي، نقلت وكالة "شينخوا" الصينية عن الأمير محمد قوله: "تتمسك السعودية بقوة بسياسة "صين-واحدة"، ونحترم وندعم حقوق الصين في اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لمكافحة الإرهاب والتطرف من أجل حماية الأمن القومي، ونحن مستعدون لتعزيز التعاون مع الصين".

ويشار إلى أن التلفزيون الصيني الناطق باللغة الإنجليزية استخدم في نقله تصريحات ولي العهد السعودي عبارة "De-extremization"، وهو مصطلح تلجأ إليه بكين لوصف سياساتها المثيرة للجدل تجاه المسلمين الأويغوريين.

وحسب تقديرات منظمات دولية، احتجزت الصين في المعسكرات الخاصة مليونا أو حتى أكثر من ذلك من المسلمين الأويغوريين، حيث يتعرض هؤلاء لـ"برنامج إعادة التعليم" الذي تقول بكين إنه يهدف إلى مكافحة التطرف، وسط أنباء عن تضييق حقوقهم وإلزامهم بدراسة العقيدة الشيوعية.

وتعرضت بكين لانتقادات دولية واسعة على خلفية سياساتها تجاه الأقلية المسلمة المقيمة في غرب البلاد، حيث حذرت منظمة "هيومن رايتس ووتش" من أن هذه الجهود المضرة بحقوق المسلمين تكثفت منذ أواخر 2016.

وسبق أن وجهت جماعات من المسلمين الأويغوريين دعوة إلى ولي العهد السعودي لاستخدام زيارته الرسمية لبكين كي يضغط على الصين في مسألة المعسكرات، باعتبار المملكة مدافعا عن حقوق المسلمين في شتى أنحاء العالم.

وخلصت "نيوزويك" إلى أن الأمير محمد يسعى لبناء تحالفات جديدة في الشرق، في ظل الانتقادات التي تعرضت لها المملكة على خلفية مقتل الصحفي السعودي جمال خاشقجي داخل قنصلية بلاده في اسطنبول.
