GCAA launches Aviation Safety E-Services

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) launched yesterday (27th June 2011) the GCAA new Aviation Safety e-services in a special ceremony held in Emirates Engineering Auditorium in Dubai, attended by 100 representatives from Aviation Sector in UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, Ismaeil Al Belooshi Executive Director Safety Affairs in GCAA said: “The GCAA is enhancing it services by transforming Air Operations and Airworthiness services to electronic to provide best services to its stakeholders in order to simplify the procedure which will be an alternative to the traditional way, this will also allow the GCAA to take full advantage of the modern technology while maintaining the required standard of safety.”
“The user will be able to apply for any of the Aviation Safety services through GCAA website using secured credential which will be provided by GCAA. Several checks and balances will be installed in the system to ensure that the services provided to the highest standards which will save the time and resources for both GCAA customers and the inspector, and will reduce the time for both the customer and the staff working on the application”. He added.
The Flight Operation e-services include initialing, amendment, renewal, and denomination of air operator certificates, operations specifications, instructor or examiner. Airworthiness e-services include certificates’ registration, issuance, amendment and deregistration, in addition to type certificate validation and design modification.
The GCAA has issued, during the last 5 months, 2 Air Operations Certificates, 31 aircraft registration certificates, 23 airworthiness certificates, and 11 licensing for aircraft maintenance companies.
