Hossam Sulaiman wins Be Surprised Contest to drive all-new Volkswagen Jetta 2011 for one full year
Hossam Al-Sheikh Sulaiman, from Al Khobar in the Eastern Province won the "Be Surprised" contest organized by Samaco, exclusive dealer for Volkswagen cars in Saudi Arabia.
The prize is free use of the all-new Volkswagen Jetta 2011 for a full year, complete with free regular maintenance carried out by Samaco. An overjoyed Sulaiman said he was looking forward to driving the high-powered and extensively equipped car.
Samaco’s innovative contest created quite a stir on the big-city streets of Saudi Arabia as the new Jetta cars were driven around with their identity mysteriously concealed but with a banner inviting the public to "Take a picture and upload it to http://www.besurprised.com with the name of the car".
Philip Burrluck, Volkswagen Brand Manager at Samaco, said the response to the contest was overwhelming.
"The number of participants as well as the number of people who guessed its name correctly was a surprise to us. It showed that that a lot of buzz was generated about the totally new Jetta and that the youth were up-to-date about its high performance, sophisticated features and affordable price. Accordingly, we expect high demand for the car and great sales.”
The new Jetta is 4.64-meter-long and positioned as a compact, durable, comfortable and safe German sedan. Its dynamic contemporary design with stylish sidelines gives it a combination of sporty strength and streamlined elegance.
The designers and engineers have made the iconic car bigger and more comfortable to match its highly dynamic performance. It has an automatic 6-speed gearbox, a 2.0-liter engine that produces 115 hp and a cabin that can seat five people comfortably.
