Al-Bayan newspaper has quoted the British Embassy's Commercial Section in Dubai as reporting that there has been an 18% rise in goods being bought by UK-based businesses. The value of the UAE's exports went up to Dh 5.7 billion (£902.4 million) in the first eight months of the current year, from Dh 4.8 billion (£767.5 million) for the corresponding period last year.
Meanwhile, there has been a 104% rise in the UAE's imports from the UK. The value of the UAE's imports from the UK hit Dh 19.5 billion (£3.1 billion) in the first eight months of the current year. UK's exports to the UAE amounted to Dh17 billion (£2.7 billion) last year.
