A poll done by the Sound of Music radio station in Lebanon, showed that Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi’s popularity well exceeds that of prominent singer Ragheb Alama. The voting lasted for a period of one-week for Haifa’s song “Ragab” and Ragheb’s song “Ulli Ishta’tilak” on the station’s program “Head to Head”, in which listeners cast their votes by calling in, SMS messages or through the station’s website.

The end result of the poll showed Haifa’s victory receiving 1075 votes, whereas Ragheb only received 267. Haifa expressed her honor at such a victory and never imagined that the song “Ragab” would achieve so much success. Haifa revealed that once she released her latest album and realized that everyone like the song she immediately filmed it in the form of a music video.

On a different note, Wahbi has announced that she has decided to put her debut into the acting world on hold, especially after the stat of sadness she is feeling for not being able to act alongside the late prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki. Haifa was previously nominated to star in a new film “Rasael Bahar” (Letters from Sea) with Ahmad, but his passing away cancelled the project.

Haifa revealed that she believes that the time is not right for her to enter the acting world, especially since she is witnessing significant success in her singing career. Before the death of Ahmad, Egyptian director Dawood Abdul Said had requested Haifa to seek a private tutor to give her lessons in acting. Dawood had stressed to Haifa that a private teacher is needed in order to help prepare for her first cinematic role in the film (Letters from Sea).

The first scenes of the film were to be shot once Ahmad completed filming his film “Halim. Haifa had agreed to play the leading role in the film despite turning down several film offers, stressing that acting alongside Zaki is an opportunity not to be missed.
