Yousif Sha’baan retires

Prominent Egyptian actor Yousif Sha’baan has decided to completely resign from acting and dedicate himself to writing scripts for the big and small screens. The decision came as a shock especially after the significant success of his recent projects “ Sharkh fi Jidar Al Umur” (A Crack in the Wall of Life) and despite the numerous offers he was receiving from directors and producers.

According to the Egyptian Al Massa, Yousif had stated that he is going through a period of disgust and boredom, especially due to the quality of entertainment works that are being shown these days. He added that most projects out don’t deserve the attention they are getting and are receiving awards not for their value but rather for superficial reasons that show how meaningless they are.

This mere fact is what motivated Yousif to retire from acting and focus on writing, in addition to the fact that he is now at the peak of his stardom and he would rather stop now than quitting after a bad project that will keep a bad memory of him in people’s minds.
