A married American couple has reportedly been killed by a drone strike in Syria, according to Daesh-affiliated social media accounts cited by multiple news agencies.
The American couple, whose birth names were not given, appear to have worked as recruiters for the Sunni militant group. They were known familiarly as Abu Isa Al-Amriki and Umm Isa Al-Amriki.
The pair "were hit in their house by the airstrikes and they both attained shahadah [martyrdom]," one pro-ISIS account said, according to Fox News. The death of the couple was also reported by the Middle East Media Research Institute, a nonprofit organization that translates social media from the Middle East into English in order to influence US foreign policy.

It’s not clear which country’s military operated the drone strike. Most likely it was carried out by the US or by Russia. Russia has reportedly been using drones in Syria for both surveillance and attack purposes. Some of the drones Russia is using against Syrian rebels were purchased from Israel.
Israel also employs attack drones in Syria, although less frequently than the US and Russia. In July, the Jewish state was reported to have used a drone strike to kill two Hezbollah fighters and three pro-Assad militiamen.
