Photo of a 62,000-crystal painting circulated the social media with more people wondering about its real cost.
According to Turkish media, the painting was made as a gift by Qatari artist to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan depicting Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock Mosque for what the artist calls Erdogan’s “determined stance” in defending Muslim causes worldwide.
Artist Abdelsalam al-Qadi said it took him three months to complete the work that included 62,000 crystals to finish one of the biggest crystal paintings in the world, as he claimed.
The photo captured the attention of social media users who had mixed opinions on it.
While some expressed their praise and gratitude for Turkey and its president, many questioned Erdogan’s as manipulating religion to gain support.
