The Tuesday hacking of the left-wing Israeli publication Haaretz’s Twitter handle left a series of threatening and gory messages on the account, but not it did not lead to the unified outpouring of condemnation among Israelis you might expect. Instead, many pro-Israel Twitter users took the opportunity to express their dislike for the liberal news site.
Hackers released a series of messages, including statements reading: “The mothers of our martyrs will drink the blood of your soldiers and settlers,” and “The memory of the Balfour Declaration has changed the situation, wait for the massacre that will be arriving soon.”
These messages were accompanied by photos of Israeli leaders covered in blood.
You might think such offensive messages would lead to widespread condemnation within the pro-Israel camp and support for Haaretz. Instead, there was this.

Right-wing Israelis jumped at the opportunity to have a Twitter stab at Haaretz’s liberal political stance. Here are a few of the responses.
