Russia declared a 3 hour airstrike pause in Aleppo today, coming at a time of repeated UN calls for a ceasefire in the embattled city. But some Syrians and Syria commentators aren’t buying it, and tweeted a meme saying Syrian children are more useful at stopping regime and Russian airstrikes than the UN.

In August, Aleppan children burned tires in the streets in an effort to distract warplanes bombing rebel targets in the city.

The witty meme refers to this effort as well as the recent UN calls for a ceasefire. It features a picture of a dirty tire in the mud accompanied with a roundtable discussion at an international conference, presumably held by the UN. The two circular images are scale to be roughly the same size. The Arabic-language caption reads “which is one is more useful for Aleppo?”
