Video: Earthquake of 5.6 magnitude strikes Egypt

ALBAWABA -  Egypt's National Research ⁠Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics reported that a 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Egypt early Monday morning.

According to the institute, the quake struck 38 km north of the Egyptian city of Suez ​just after 3:00 a.m. local time.

Authorities in Egypt had received ​no reports of casualties or property damage. However, videos were shared on social media showing buildings, cars and materials moving from side to side during the quake.

Egypt Today, a local media outlet, reported Monday that emergency teams, hospitals and ambulances were set on alert.

The tremor was recorded at a magnitude of about 5.5, according to data attributed to the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
