Egypt gov't denies meetings with Muslim Brotherhood

Egypt's interim government on Tuesday denied reports that it made contact with opposing factions -- the Muslim Brotherhood -- "that use violence to impose their will" in a bid to bring the country out of its current political stalemate.

Supporters of ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi flash a four finger symbol, known as "Rabaa", which means four in Arabic, to remember those killed in the crackdown on the Rabaa al-Adawiya protest camp in Cairo. The Egyptian military is preparing for widespread violence as the country marks the 40th anniversary of the October 1973 war with Israel. (AFP)
