Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) firms are competing fiercely to invest in Syria. Syrian Tourism Minister, Sadallah Agha Al-Qala, told al Qabas daily that his country would continue to offer investors assurances to continue driving investments into Syria. Kuwaiti companies are the second largest Arab investors in Syria, trailing Saudi Arabia, with 19 projects at a net value of USD 541 million, according to the Kuwaiti Embassy in Syria.
