Jazeera Airways issues April 2011 operational performance report

Award-winning airline Jazeera Airways, the largest airline serving the Middle East out of Kuwait, today issued its monthly operational performance report for April 2011 which showed that the airline had continued to lead in market share on most of the routes it operates for the 22nd month in-a-row.
The company has secured a month-on-month lead in market share since July 2009 thanks to its expanding value offering to customers, great schedules, and operating at high on-time performance of 95% during the month, which makes the airline one of the most punctual airlines in the Middle East.
The monthly report showed that the airline carried 86,420 passengers in April 2011, with 26,375 passengers between Kuwait and the Levant region, 18,601 passengers between Kuwait and Egypt, 37,416 passengers between Kuwait and other Gulf countries, and 4,028 passengers between Kuwait and other destinations.
The today-issued report is based on data from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA). The report does not include the Kuwait-Jeddah and Kuwait-Riyadh routes, where the airline has lower seat-allocation restrictions compared to other Kuwaiti airlines.
Jazeera Airways captured the largest market share on routes operated between Kuwait and the Levant region with a 38% market share on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 36% market share on the Kuwait-Amman route, a 50% market share on the Kuwait-Damascus route, and a 100% market share on both the Kuwait-Aleppo and Kuwait-Deir Ezzor routes. Jazeera Airways is the only airline operating between Kuwait and Aleppo, and Kuwait and Deir Ezzor.
The report also showed that Jazeera Airways captured the largest market share on routes operated between Kuwait and Egypt, grabbing a 44% market share on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, a 67% market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route, an 88% on the Kuwait-Luxor route, and a 43% market share on the Kuwait-Sohag route.
Statistics for the airline’s Kuwait-Cairo route, which was launched on May 18, will be included in the upcoming May 2011 Operational Performance Report. Jazeera Airways launched the route with ten flights per week, and plans to increase the frequency to 21 flights per week starting from June 16th.
The airline was also the largest Kuwaiti operator to Bahrain during the month of April with a 21% market share, and to Dubai with an 18% market share
