Kempinski Dead Sea Hotel makes the largest cake in the Arab world

Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea Hotel and Resort, achieved a new record of making the biggest cake in the Arab world. The total height of the cake is 65 layers, marking the Kingdom's number of independence day.

Janet Abrahams, Area Director Sales & Marketing Levant Region, said that making this cake was in order to participate in the 65th anniversary on the independence of Jordan, and to achieve an unprecedented record in Jordan or the Arab world.

And the team that participated in making this giant cake, which was held in the lobby of the Hotel, to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.

Ms. Abrahams said that preparations of this cake took three weeks and took five days of mixing the ingredients, which included 5400 eggs and 400kg of flour and 160kg of sugar.

Ahmed Ferrand, Jordanian Chef, supervised on the team of 32 chefs, and 12 engineers whom designed the dimensions of the cake to remain for the entire week, at the lobby of the hotel.

Janet Abrahams said that the completion of this record adds to the  Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea Hotel and Resort, and considered the first in the history of the hotel industry in Jordan.

She said that we have a lot to achieve in breaking world records and making more innovations.

The traditional ribbon-cutting, of the giant cake, was by the former Jordanian Minister of Tourism and a number of members of the parliament, ambassadors, journalists and businessmen in Jordan, who attend the ceremony.

The ceremony reached its peak by the Jordanian Army- Musical Band, with artistic performances, and dances from the Jordanian heritage.
