Egyptian singer Angham has announced that she demands to be paid a wage of 20 thousand US dollars to make any appearance on a television program during the holy month of Ramadan. Angham has turned down an invitation to participate in the program “The Dictator”, which is hosted by journalist Ibraheem Issa and aired on the Egyptian satellite channel ‘Al Tahrir’. The organizers of the show had refused to meet Angham’s wage request and therefore the singer immediately withdrew.
According to the London based Elaph, Angham had also turned down numerous other offers from different television programs that will be airing during the holy month of Ramadan for the same reason. Angham even demanded to be paid the wage for a guest of honor appearance on any show despite the fact that numerous stars have lowered their wages to appear on different programs due to the unstable political and financial conditions in Egypt.
The singer’s latest release was the single “Sibtah” (I left him), which she had launched at the beginning of the summer season. The singer has not yet decided on a launch date for her upcoming album.
