Basem Yakhour to play Rushdi Abadha

Prominent Syrian actor Basem Yakhour has been nominated to portray the role of the late Egyptian legendary actor Rushdi Abadha in two different television dramas. The first drama Basem will be in is about the life of the late Egyptian diva Tahia Karioki. In the drama, Basem’s role is a secondary one.


The second drama will be about the life of Rushdi and if Basem accepts his nomination he will play the main role. The drama is titled “The Don Juan”. Director of the drama, Asad Fulakour, had previously nominated Egyptian actor Ahmad Fulkas and Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury, but the later had turned down his nomination. Asad has not made any official announcement which actor has been confirmed to play Rushdi.


Basem has recently completed filming his scenes in the new television drama “Taeb Al Mishwar” (Painful Journey) with director Saif Al Din Sabe’ie. In the drama, Basem plays the role of ‘Nizar’ who after his father’s death becomes the head of the household and is very dominating over his mother and sister.


The actor is also scheduled to begin filming his scenes in the television drama “Jalsat Nisa’ieh” (Women Talk), which is written by Amal Hina and directed by Al Muthana Subuh. In addition, Basem is expected to take part in the drama “Al Infijar” (The explosion) directed by Osama Al Hamad and will also be presenting the fourth season of the program “Ameer Al Shu’ara” (Prince of Poetry), which is aired on the UAE satellite channel Abu Dhabi.
