Egyptian musician Hilmi Bakr stated that the Egyptian Musician Union has sent a second warning to Syrian singer Asalah Nasri to stand trial in the lawsuit he filed against her, but she had failed to be present on the set date. Hilmi stressed that he will not drop the charges he filed against Asalah, especially after she publicly humiliated him in tabloids and on television.
Hilmi said that Asalah was previously scheduled to hold two concerts in Egypt, but they were cancelled due to the fact that she was not present on the date the Union had set to hear her side of the story in the dispute between her and Hilmi. Hilmi added that Asalah should respect the Union and the country she resides in.
According to the London based Elaph, Hilmi noted that Asalah had made several attempts to settle her differences with him by appearing on television programs and requesting the hosts to interfere, but he refused all attempts and stressed that any settlement of differences will only be made through the Musician Union and not satellite television.
Head of the Union had at a previous time threatened to ban Asalah from singing in Egypt if she did not appear in front of the Union and stand trial.
