Egyptian belly dancer/actress Dina will be playing the leading role in the new film “Shari’ Al Haram” (Al Haram Street) replacing prominent Syrian actress Jumana Murad, who had declined her nomination. Before Jumana, actresses Summaya Al Khashab and Rania Yousif had also declined their nominations.
The film’s story revolves around a belly dancer that moves up in her career from starting off as part of a folkloric band moving into a dancer at a nightclub. The dancer experiences numerous obstacles throughout the events of the film that are of a humorous nature.
Egyptian singer Saed Al Sughair stars alongside Dina in the film as well as actors Alaa Mursi, Suleiman Eid and Lutfi Labeeb. The film is written by Saed Al Sabki and directed by Mohammad Shawri, marking his first directing experiences. The film will be screened during the Muslim holiday Eid AL Fitr, which is after the holy month of Ramadan.
