The producing company for the new television drama “Al Shahrourah”, which tackles the life of Lebanese diva Sabah and star Lebanese singer Carol Samaha, revealed that it received a number of court warnings filed by artists that are talked about in the drama. Among those artists are Lebanese diva Fairouz, the Rahbani Brothers and Saeed Fareeha.
The artists that are mentioned in the drama are demanding that their characters be eliminated completely and no reference is made it them or they will take drastic measures against the drama makers.
Sadeq Sabah, producer of the drama, said that the cast and crew have found a way to go around this obstacle by using made up names to represent the different artists and figures Sabah met throughout her journey.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Sadeq clarified that instead of using Fairouz’s name they will be using “Rose” and Assi Al Rahbani will be “Asim” and so forth to avoid getting into legal matters with the artists.
Sadeq added that the drama will also reference political figures that Sabah came across throughout her journey like the late Egyptian Presidents Jamal Abd Al Nasser and Anwar Al Sadat. Sadeq stated that the producing company of the drama is the first company to turn a living artist’s life into a television drama, making it the most accurate.
