Prominent Syrian actor Jamal Suleiman stated that he dreams of seeing political reform in Syria and resents the use of force on Syrian protesters calling for reform and the downfall of the current government in Syria.
Suleiman stressed that refuses to be put on Syria’s blacklist of artists to be boycotted for supporting the government of President Bashar Al Asad, and stated that he had signed a national petition along with a number of Syrian stars calling for reform and an end to the current devastating condition in Syria.
Syrian officials considered Suleiman’s actions as a sign of betrayal t the president and protesters refused to accept Suleiman since he does not support all their beliefs. Jamal stressed that he now is fully supportive of protesters and resents greatly the killings of innocent people at the hands of security officials, who take their commands from the governing body.
Jamal stated that he did not take part in any of the protesters, because doing so would lead to him being arrested and even killed at the hands of security officials. Jamal said that people have every right to protest and hold demonstrations to demand political reform and an improvement to living conditions and they should not be ruthlessly punished for doing so.
