A number of Lebanese artists have expressed their support for the Syrian government, despite mass protests taking place in Syrian cities demanding the current government and regime of President Bashar Al Assad renounce power. Lebanese artists have shown their support by releasing songs, now being aired on Syrian radio and television channels.
According to the London based Elaph, Lebanese singers have surpassed Syrian singers in releasing songs showing support for Syria and its leadership. Among the singers is Rabee’ Al Asmar, who released a song titled “Dam Al Shaheed” (Blood of Martyr), which he wrote and composed. Rabee’ also filmed a music video for the song under the direction of Faisal Bani Al Marjah.
Singer Ayman Zabeeb released a song titled “Min Al Qalb” (From the heart), reflecting his love and support for Syria and President Bashar Al Asad. Ayman said that he cannot imagine Syria without Bashar Al Asad, and without its current security and stability.
"Since the start of my career, I have supported Syria and its government, and my concerts held in Syria have always been the most successful," said Ayman.
Ayman has also filmed a music video for the song “Bitiz’al Dani” (You get upset) under the direction of Tamer Ishaq on the streets of Damascus.
Lebanese singer Mu’een Shareef released a song titled “Syria, God protect it" and said that Syria will always remain a stable and secure country that unites religions and peoples.
Lebanese singer Alaa Zalzali recently dedicated a song to the Syrian people titled “Min’eesh Bil Sham” (We live in Sham) to show his love and support to the Syrian people and their government. Alaa stated that when he travels to Syria he feels at home, and that Syria is where most Lebanese singers began their careers.
