A number of Egyptian people called for the formation of a march of millions to stop the airing of the television drama “Kayd Nisa” (Women’s vengeance) starring Egyptian belly dancer Fifi Abdo and actress Summaya Al Khashab. People are claiming that the drama contains too many provocative dancing scenes that are considered inappropriate for the holy month of Ramadan.
Pages on the social network Facebook were created demanding the ban and boycott of the drama and were titled “March of Millions to stop the airing of the drama Kayed Al Nisa”. Administrators of the pages stated that the aim of creating such pages is to ban the drama and put an end to the undignified attitudes of the actors.
On her part, Fifi stated that such campaigns against the drama are conspiracies against it since it is witnessing tremendous success and has large number of viewers from the first episode. For this reason Fifi decided not to give much attention to these campaigns and stressed that the drama does not contain any improper scenes that are disrespectful to the holy month of Ramadan.
