Despite the sad and sudden death of Lebanese director Yahia Sa’adeh, his works still lives on through the many music videos for some of the most prominent singers in the Arab world. One of the last clips Yahia director was for Lebanese singer Mariam Fares for the song “Khalani” (He left me).
The clip like many by the late director is filled with light and color, that when a person watches it, is like looking at a portrait by a famous artist. Many bright colors were used in the clip like orange, yellow, green and pink. The clip is filmed in one of the villages that through Yahia’s creativity one cannot pinpoint the geography of the place.
Mariam is known to be one of the singers that were able to find success with Yahia due to the mere fact that she possesses acting and dancing capabilities that in most cases there is no need for backup dancers. Mariam is also known not to give too much attention to the criticism and opposition she faces after the release of each clip in which many claim she is too daring in.
