Egyptian actress Ola Ghanem has expressed her thanks to ousted Egyptian President Husni Mubarak from stepping down from office and not clinging on like Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi, who is refusing to answer the calls of his people and is brutally massacring them.

Ola revealed that she was terrified the first few days the Egyptian January 25 Revolution broke out to overthrow the government of Mubarak. The situation made her think of the Palestinian people who are constantly living in a state of utter fear.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Ola assured that the Egyptian people are not living in agony as is the case with other countries that revolutions broke out in, and the situation had subsided quickly once Mubarak stepped down. She added that she grieves for the Libyan people, whose president is refusing to step down and is committing crimes against his people.

Ola said that she did not ridicule Mubarak after he was convicted to be imprisoned for fifteen days and does not approve of people making fun of him despite all the corruption he was involved in.
