Egyptian controversial singer/actress Ruby has said that she was victim of many false accusations over her absence from the honorary ceremony of her latest film “Al Shawq” (Desire) at the recent Cairo Film Festival. Ruby stressed that her absence was due to circumstances out of her hand and not due to conflicts between her and the director of the film.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Ruby denied accusations of promoting homosexuality in the film and said that the bathing scene with her sister is merely a scene from the film and holds no homosexual connotations to it.
Ruby said that the commotion created over the bathing scene did not bother her because the story of the film called for such a scene, adding it is a normal thing in poverty stricken neighborhoods for sisters to bathe together.
With regards to her declining her nomination to star in the new television drama “Dawran Shabra” (Shabra Circle), Ruby said that her busy schedule leaves her no time to take on new projects.
On a personal level, Ruby stated that sometimes she forgets herself and does not have a social life outside her career, which is one of the reasons she has not found Mr. Right.
