An Egyptian lawyer has filed a complaint to Attorney General, Abd Al Majeed Mahmoud, against artists Saed Al Sughair and Ahmad Adam, as well as the National Bank of Egypt, Faisal Islamic Bank, Suez Canal Bank, the Central Bank of Egypt and Al Ahly Club accusing them of fraud and seizing the donations collected for the families of Egypt’s January 25 Revolution martyrs.
In the complain, lawyer Mahmoud Imam, who is acting attorney of a widower of one of the martyrs, stated that all of the donations collected since the revolution have not been distributed to any of the families and it is not known where the money went.
Saed and Ahmad Adam took part in collecting donations for families of victims of the revolution, and it is alleged that they have a hand in the disappearance of the funds gathered.
Mahmoud submitted the bank accounts that were established to allocate the donations and demanded that an investigation be made to return the funds to their rightful owners.
According to the internet website MBC.net, the Military Supreme Council, which manages the affairs of the Egyptian state today, had issued a decision to establish funds to provide assistance for victims of the revolution and their families and have these funds monitored by the Council of Ministers based in Cairo.
