Prominent Egyptian actress Sharihan revealed during a phone interview with the television news channel Al Jazeera that she backs the Egyptian people one hundred percent in their protests against the current Egyptian government. Sharihan stated that the revolution of the Egyptian people is a big dream that is finally coming true and all her support is for them. She added that the she and the people of Egypt are willing to pay with their blood to make their dream of a true democracy come true.
Sharihan said that she wishes the newly appointed prime minister formulates a government that will serve the Egyptian people justly and answer the demands of the people, who are being subjected to violence by security officials.
The actress said that the only way the Egyptian people will be satisfied is by a new government that will govern in a completely different manner than that of the current Egyptian president Husni Mubarak.
Sharihan added that the people of Egypt have shed blood in their fight to achieve democracy and if she wasn’t suffering from cancer she would donate her blood to save those wounded in the protests.
Sharihan said that she thanks God that she lived to see the day when Egyptians were finally able to speak out and stand together and unite as one despite all attempts to break them up by the government.
The last appearance by Sharihan was in 2007during a phone interview with journalist Amru Adeeb on the show “Cairo Today”. During the interview, Sharihan had talked about her fight against the rare cancer she is suffering from and her medical journey.
