Syrian actress Yara Sabri denied circulating rumors that she and her husband, director Maher Sulaybi, and their children have fled Syria and gone to Dubai after receiving death threats. The actress wrote on her official page on the social internet website Facebook that she and her family had gone to Dubai for a family vacation and any rumors about her fleeing Syria are mere lies.
The reason behind the rumors of her fleeing Syria are based on the fact that local Syrian media had published that the actress received death threats by a Syrian Secret Service official after she announced her support to protesters calling for the resignation of Syrian President Bashar Al Asad.
On a different note, Yara has participated in only one television drama this year to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan. Yara stars in the drama “Jalsat Nisa’yiah” (Women Gatherings), which is written by Syrian author Amal Hanna and directed by Al Muthana Subh. The drama stars a number of prominent Syrian actors like Nisreen Tafish, Samer Al Masri, Bassim Yakhoor, Nathili Al Rawis and Algerian actress Amal Bushushah.
