Regardless of what your reasons for it might be, wanting to hide money can feel scary as you never know if they'll be found or not by thieves. You can really never be sure, and the chances are hiding money under a place such as a mattress or a rug won't make you feel better.
Here are some creative places you can hide your money in:
1. Kids' Room

Assuming it isn't your kids you want to hide money from, their rooms might be the perfect place to leave some money in. A kids' room wouldn't be a thief's first idea of where valuables would be stored.
2. The closet

And no, we don't mean the closet itself, but just one clothing item you have hanged there.
According to suggestions, a thief wouldn't bother to go through every item in the closet looking for money possibly left in one of them, which would make it a good place to store money. Just make sure to remember the piece of clothing you left your money in though.

Another sneaky place to hide money is inside a book. Simply cut out the pages in the middle of a thick hardback book you don't need, and use the hollow space to store money. You could even mix things up by doing this with a fake book cover, such as a vintage dictionary or encyclopedia. The more books you have, the more effective this method would be, as a thief would need to go through a lot of books to find the right now, and the same could be said for you if you forgot which book you stored money at, so be careful.
4. Fake power outlets

You might want to consider getting these if you feel like hiding a certain amount of money. There are fake power outlets that have a secret compartment behind them, perfect for hiding money or other valuables. These can be mounted on a wall and are hard to tell apart from a real outlet.
5. Fish tank

If you have fish in your home, and you have a big fish tank for them, you're in luck.
This is an excellent location for hiding money, as very little number of thieves would be ready to put their hands in a filthy fish tank to look if there is anything hidden. You can hide your money in a fish tank in a bunch of different ways. You can use a jar, bury it under a rock, or place it in the filtration system of the tank. Just make sure to protect the jar from the elements and mark the location for future retrieval.
6. Curtain Rods

A clever and easy way to hide money in your home would be with the use of curtain rods. Most curtain rods have removable ends, so you can take them off, roll up your cash, and insert it into the end before putting the cap back on. This trick will work in any home.
