Here’s how Syrians in Damascus celebrate Eid al-Adha

Syria may be torn apart by conflict, but that didn't stop residents from throwing a party in the streets of Damascus for the Muslim holiday.

On Sunday Muslims from around the world celebrated the fourth and final day of Eid al-Adha, the second of two annual Eids. Syria's capital was no exception. 

A video was uploaded on a Facebook page of Yomyat Kzefeh Hawen, "Diary of a Mortar Shell in Damascus," of a rally in the al-Midan neighborhood. In the footage Syrians gather in the streets near the city center, one man waves the country's flag and music blasts in the background. 

Comments on the Facebook video came from Syrians now living all over the world, feeling nostalgic and missing the home country they love.

"Even if I have only one day left to live, I'm going back home," someone who went by the name of Moudi Hanoun wrote.
