Justin Bieber got pulled into a pretty convincing argument against Islamophobia this week, when a Canadian comedian used him to show why you shouldn’t blame Muslims for Daesh. The host of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Susan Kent, addressed Islamophobes as “arseholes," called Daesh “monsters,"  and went on to describe how Muslims hate Daesh too and should not be judged for the extremist group.

She said that there are only around 30,000 Daesh fighters, while there are 1.6 billion Muslims. She then pointed out that there are 35 million Canadians, but not all of them throw tantrums while wearing expensive tights and giant t-shirts like Justin Bieber—who is Canadian.

Kent’s comedy rant continued on this track as she said that “attacking a whole group because someone in that group did something bad is always a dumb idea."

The comedian went on to say this included not blaming all Catholics for creepy priests or “the entire Star Wars franchise for Jar Jar Binks."

If we really want to stop terrorism, “stop terrorizing people," she said.
