In the outskirts of the Idlib province, an offensive launched in July by a rebel alliance is making Syrian regime troops run to the hills.
Media outlets in early August reported government forces retook key parts of al-Ghab, but recent data showed their successes didn't last. In one week alone, Jaysh al-Fatah (Army of Conquest) managed to make significant gains on al-Ghab plains, where the rebels are trying to advance to southern government strongholds.
Maps uploaded by the Institute for United Conflict Analysts (IUCA) located areas where either the Army of Conquest or Syrian Arab Army are in control. They also pinpointed the key parts that had clashes between the two as the rebel group moved south toward Joureen.
A local media outlet that sides with the rebels says Jaysh al-Fatah is eyeing Joureen Camp, a strategic regime stronghold where leaders are believed to be hiding. At this rate it may not take another week.
