Twitter is having a rough day today. But it hasn't stopped a mad storm from forming around a photo of a tiny football fan wearing a Lionel Messi Argentina jersey fashioned from a plastic bag.

Here's the photo:

The photo apparently appeared first on Turkish fan sites, which claimed the child hailed from Dohuk, Iraq. And while its actual origin has not yet been confirmed, the image has sparked a campaign among Twitter users to try to find the boy and give him a real jersey.

Here's one from Turkey:

A young boy in Iraq made a Lionel Messi shirt from a plastic bag.

And one from Spanish-language football blog Juez Central:

Tremendous image. A child in Iraq manages to play in his idol’s T-shirt. The Beautiful Game.

Others on Twitter have been quick to oblige, and while it seems like a bit of a long shot finding one child, possibly somewhere in Dohuk, and giving him a t-shirt, we're rooting for him. After all, the Internet's pulled off crazier things.
