Christian man killed in Egypt train shooting attack

An attacker in police uniform on Tuesday opened fire on a group of passengers in a train, killing a Christian man and injuring five others in the Egypt's southern Minya province. The assailant boarded the train at Samalut and opened fire on passengers, killing 71-year-old Fathi Said Massaad and injuring others, local media reports said.

After the attack, the shooter tried to flee but was arrested.

Three among the five injured were Christians. However, Major General Ahmed Dia el-Din the Governor of Minya has denied the incident related to sectarian reasons. Egyptian security services are questioning the suspect in order to understand his motives.
