Egypt's Interior Ministry has released a new batch of detainees. This group included some 60 figures. One of the most prominent detainee to be released is Mohammed al-Zawahiri, brother of Dr. Ayman al-Zawahri, the No. 2 in Al-Qaeda .
At the beginning of the 1990s Mohammed al-Zawahiri a member of the Islamic Jihad group was sent to the Balkans to help run the mujaheddin fighters in Bosnia. He was known as a logistics expert.
It is reported that Mohammed al-Zawahiri had been missing since 2000 after he left Egypt to Yemen and then to the United Arab Emirates where he was arrested. He was handed over by the UAE government to the Egyptian government in 2001. He was jailed in the Tora prison while his family was not informed about his whereabouts.
