Egypt's ruling party said Thursdday that it will back 82-year-old Hosni Mubarak if he decides run for another term as president in 2011. So far Mubarak didn't say whether he will seek another term.
Al Musawwar magazine quoted National Democratic Party leader Safwat Sherif as saying his party is just waiting for Mubarak's decision on whether he will run again in 2011. The Egyptian leader has ruled the country since 1981. There has been speculation about his health following his gallbladder surgery in March.
Also, there are many speculations that Mubarak is grooming his son, Gamal, to take over.
