Fatah Movement led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, on Tuesday, denied leaked documents issued by "Wikileaks" website regarding its request from Israel to attack Hamas in the Gaza Strip in 2007. The group said in a press statement that the allegations of the Israel's GSS Director Yuval Diskin, as appeared in the leaked documenst are "baseless."
It added that none of its members did raise to the Israeli authorities such a request "because it is simply incompatible with the principles of the Movement which supports national values."
The statement stressed that it does not deal publicly with sensitive national issues, according to "documents being leaked here or there."
Fatah movement said it does not try to keep its positions in secret. "Our declared positions are that in any way we can ask for help from the Israeli occupation, whatever the circumstances are." Fatah described the document published by Wikileaks as "a forgery of our real positions and an Israeli conspiracy to increase dispute in the Palestinian arena."
