The Kuwaiti a-Rai newspaper on Wednesday reported that as the Prosecutor of the International Tribunal Daniel Bellemare, delivered the charge sheets regarding the assassination of ex-premier Hariri, Hizbullah conducted an exercise to test the readiness to take control over Beirut. A source in the Shiite movement told the newspaper that such operation would need 4 hours to complete. However, in the drill it took just two hours.

Lebanon is facing a political crisis after Prime Minister Saad Hariri's government collapsed on Wednesday when 11 Hizbullah-affiliated ministers stepped down in a protest over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

The source stressed that there is no chance Saad Hariri will head the next cabinet. He explained that "Hariri was not serious in dealing with the Syrian - Saudi mediationand ignored the desire of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz."

For his part, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday issued a warning to Israel and the United States and some European countries, calling on them to "stop the incitement of discord" in Lebanon if they do not want to turn people against them. The Iranian president said in a speech in the city of Yazd, "You are on the verge of the risk which will lead you into the abyss," referring to the United States, Israel and some European countries.
