According to its state television channel, Iran has launched their fourth satellite into space.
Associated Press reports that Defense Minister Gen. Hossein Dehghan was quoted saying the satellite, designed and built in Iran, is named "Fajr," or dawn in Farsi.
The satellite was put into elliptical orbit of 250 to 400 kilometers, according to Iranian news agency Press TV.
Despite controversy surround its nuclear program, Iran says both its nuclear and space programs are for peaceful purposes.
