Iran will not abandon its nuclear achievements in the upcoming negotiations with the powers of the 5 +1 group, said Sunday, a senior Iranian official, according to IRNA news agency.

Parliament will never allow the government to take a step backward in the country's nuclear policy," said Allaeddine Boroujerdi, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Iranian Parliament.

He assured that the Government and Parliament had identical positions on this subject.

"The Americans and their allies have found that the Islamic Republic of Iran, without the help of other countries, managed by its young scientists, to produce the fuel needed for its nuclear plants," he said.

The main messages of this achievement and success in other fields have shown that the Islamic Republic of Iran has total control over nuclear development. If the countries of Group 5 +1 do not accept the reality of Iran's nuclear capabilities, they will suffer, "he added.

These comments came as Iran and Group 5 +1 (United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany) should resume negotiations to find a solution to the Iranian nuclear crisis.

The United States and Western countries have strengthened in recent months economic sanctions, mainly on Iran's oil and banking sectors, to force it to surrender its nuclear program. However, Russia and China objected to new sanctions.

Iran rejects Western accusations that it is seeking to manufacture nuclear weapons under cover of its civilian nuclear program.

Inviting the 5 +1 group to "adopt a policy of conciliation rather than confrontation," Boroujerdi called Iranian negotiators to work for "the annulment of the resolutions" by the U.N. Security Council to impose economic sanctions on Iran.
