Israel's Channel Two television reported late Wednesday that the industry minister, Benjamin Ben-Eliezer met secretly with the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu in Zurich. This was the first meeting on the ministerial level since the eruption of the new crisis between the two sides following the May 31's raid by Israeli forces on the Turkish aid flotilla to the Gaza Strip, which ended in the killing nine Turks. During the 2.5 hour talks the Turkish minister reiterated Turkey's conditions to solve the crisis.
The Channel reported that this meeting was held with the consent of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, however, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman was not aware of it.
Turkey's Hurriyet newspaper reported on Thursday that the meeting took place following a personal request by US President Obama
